DVA Adds Three Staff Members
In response to our expanding roster of local and regional clients, DVA has recently added three new staff members: Chris Saunders as Art Director, Michelle Roats as Account Coordinator, and Heather Clark as Traffic Manager.
Saunders most recently worked as senior art director at JWT in Denver, where he oversaw, managed and produced broadcast, print and Web advertising for Ford Dealer Associations in the Southwest. Previously, Saunders worked as a freelance art director for numerous New York firms on accounts such as PricewaterhouseCoopers, TV Guide, Frontier Airlines and Subaru.
A Central Oregon native and Oregon State University graduate, Roats brings marketing and event planning experience to the agency’s account management team. Roats most recently worked as general manager for C3 Events, Central Oregon’s premier event planning organization, and prior to that post held the position of Marketing Manager for a non-profit arm of the Texas Stampede.
Well-known in Central Oregon for her coverage of sports in The Bulletin for the past 10 years, Clark utilizes her writing and project management experience to oversee and manage the flow of projects through the agency.
Tourism Walla Walla Selects DVA As Its Full-Service Destination Marketing Partner
After a Pacific Northwest-wide search that included more than 15 candidates, Tourism Walla Walla has selected DVA as its full-service destination marketing partner. As such, DVA will be responsible for promoting Walla Walla as a year-round leisure travel destination to regional and national audiences.
“While each agency brought something unique to the table, DVA’s leadership, integration of services, and destination marketing experience were key factors in the decision of our board,” said Michael Davidson, President and CEO of Tourism Walla Walla. “We’re confident that this partnership will go a long way toward helping Walla Walla grow and evolve as a year-round, multi-faceted destination.”
Some of DVA’s current and recent tourism industry experience includes work completed for destination marketing organizations such as the Central Oregon Visitors Association, Visit Bend, and the Cannon Beach Chamber of Commerce.
Following the completion of a brand audit, DVA will develop a new strategic marketing plan that will be implemented in 2012. An off-season marketing campaign focusing on the November through March timeframe, when occupancy at area hotels typically declines following the busy summer travel season, will begin immediately. This campaign will carry over to a year-round marketing effort that utilizes traditional advertising, public relations, social media, electronic marketing, strategic partnerships, and events/promotions to build awareness and visitation.
Mt. Bachelor Chooses DVA for Resort
Marketing and Public Relations
Mt. Bachelor, the fifth largest ski area in the country, has long been
a favorite weekend (and occasional weekday) destination for DVA employees
throughout the agency's history. Now all those days of powder
are paying off as Mt. Bachelor has chosen DVA to create a new marketing
campaign for its 50th anniversary season.
"We felt it was important for our marketing to be handled locally,
by a group that is not only familiar with the mountain, but by people
who are part of the community and who understand the region,"
said Dave Rathbun, president and general manager of Mt. Bachelor.
As the agency of record, DVA will provide fully-integrated services
for the resort's marketing needs, including brand management,
creative development, media planning/buying, public relations and other
duties.
DVA Adds New Account
Supervisor
DVA is pleased to announce the addition of ShanRae Hawkins as Account
Supervisor. ShanRae brings a wealth of tourism and hospitality experience
to DVA from her previous stints as Director of Marketing for Sunriver
Resort and Bend's Old Mill District. In addition to her marketing
experience, she holds a degree in communications from the University
of Idaho.
DVA Hires New Copywriter
Coming from the sleepy little backwater of Chicago, Nicholas Reese has
come to the big city of Bend to join DVA as their newest copywriter.
Nick's previous experience includes stints at Chicago agencies
Flow Creative and JWT, where he worked on national campaigns for such
brands as Nabisco, Nestle, Oscar Mayer and Illinois Board of Tourism.
He is a graduate of the Chicago Portfolio School and the University
of Nevada-Reno.
DVA Hires Senior
Art Director
Everything is bigger in Texas, including our newest art director's
experience. Senior Art Director Rob Johnson comes to DVA from Dallas,
where he gained more than 15 years of experience creating award-winning
work on accounts such as Nokia, Dr Pepper/Seven Up, FedEx Kinkos and
Blockbuster Online. Rob has worked at several Texas agencies, including
The Richards Group, Firehouse, Kolar and SicolaMartin, as well as with
his own companies FUEL and Hirerob.com. Rob holds degrees in communication
from The University of Texas at Austin and Texas Tech University.
